House and Senate joint Committee Meeting held to on online gaming
A Joint Legislative Committee Meeting to discuss the feasibility and practicality of authorizing Internet gaming in Louisiana was held on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014. A resolution filed by Rep. Mike Huval, was passed during the last legislative session. The resolution wanted the committees to look at whether or not online gaming should be allowed in Louisiana. Several participants provided information regarding the history of online gaming, the current illegal activity that exists today, the lack of consumer identity protection and the loss of revenue from illegal online gaming activity. This is sure to be an issue discussed during the 2014 legislative session.
