Do you  have your company's upgrade or replacememnt of machines complete? The average conversion rate from now until the  deadline  is average of 230 per week. Is that goal being met? What happens  at the deadline?  Representatives from State Police will be attending the LAMOA Trade Show to update the industry on how the transfer process is going.  The show floor will open at 10:30 a.m.  giving  attendees an opportunity to view products for both the video poker and amusement industry.

Louisiana State Police Promote Captain State Police  announced the promotion of Capt. James Cormier as commander of Troop I, which enforces state law within an eight-parish Acadiana region.

Cormier, a Pointe Coupee Parish native and resident, most recently served as criminal investigations commander for an 18-parish region of south Louisiana and succeeds Capt. Becket Breaux, who was promoted as patrol major overseeing troops I, C and D, according to a State Police news release.

Cormier's command covers more than 8,000 highway miles in Evangeline, St. Landry, Acadia, Lafayette, St. Martin, Vermilion, Iberia and St. Mary parishes.

He began his career in 1991 with the Lafayette Police Department and began working in 1997 with State Police, where he's worked as an investigator among its narcotics and gaming sections and has held various administrative positions during his 17-year tenure.

Smoke Free Ordinance New Orleans has joined almost 700 cities nationwide in going smoke-free. In January 2015, the New Orleans City Council unanimously passed and Mayor Landrieu signed into law a new, comprehensive smoke-free ordinance. The City's new ordinance goes into effect on April 22, 2015. In addition to smoking restrictions that already exist under state law, there will be new restrictions on smoking and vaping (use of electronic smoking devices) in many locations across the City.

Gaming Control Board Proposed Rules February 2014 Changes to the Video Poker rules were proposed at the February 20th Gaming Control Board meeting. The Gaming Board approved institution of rule making process for the rules at the meeting. The rules must now be published in the Louisiana State Register followed by a public comment period.

State Police, Advisory Notice, Service / Repair Forms, device enrollment, disables, software changes On January 13th, 2014, an Advisory Notice was sent out regarding the discontinuation of operators mailing in the DPSSP 0040 Device Service/ Repair Forms for enrollments, disables, logic board changes or software changes. Please disregard that notice. Operators are to continue to submit the Service/Repair form 40. A copy of the letter confirming the correction to the initial Advisory Notice can be found under the General category on the Downloaded Files page.

State Police are working on possible changes to the way this form is submitted but until further notice continue submitting as always.

House Committee, Senate Committee, Internet Gaming, Online Gaming A Joint Legislative Committee Meeting to discuss the feasibility and practicality of authorizing Internet gaming in Louisiana was held on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014.  A resolution filed by Rep. Mike Huval, was passed during the last legislative session.  The resolution wanted the committees to look at whether or not online gaming should be allowed in Louisiana.  Several participants provided information regarding the history of online gaming, the current illegal activity that exists today, the lack of consumer identity protection and the loss of revenue from illegal online gaming activity.  This is sure to be an issue discussed during the 2014 legislative session.

This facility will be staffed regularly to process Video Site Controller (VSC) and Printer exchanges and acquisitions daily from 7:00am to 4:00pm.
